Who makes the motorhomes?
Swift Group makes all Swift Go motorhomes at our factories in Yorkshire. Swift is the UK's leading leisure vehicle manufacturer and has been making caravans and motorhomes for over 50 years.
Which motorhomes do you hire?
We have chosen 3 of Swift's most popular ranges for Swift Go. Escape is our best-selling motorhome and a favourite among first-time owners and families. Select is a more compact campervan, perfect for adventurous road trips. Bessacarr is our luxury motorhome with striking appearance and lavish interior
How old are the motorhomes?
All vehicles in the Swift Go fleet are in pristine condition and are less than 2 years old.
How equipped are the motorhomes?
All Swift Go motorhomes are fully equipped. On board you can find...
- Fully equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave*, kettle and toaster
- 4G-enabled Wi-Fi and TV/DVD player
- All bedding and towels - 1 set per berth per motorhome
- Washroom with toilet and shower - hot water comes from the combi boiler
- Crockery, glassware, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment

Booking your motorhome
Can I hire?
To hire a motorhome from Swift Go you need to meet certain requirements. You must be over 25 and under 75. We cannot accept drivers with more than 6 points on their licence.
Do I need a special licence?
No. All Swift Go motorhomes and campervans can be driven on a standard B licence. Some bigger motorhomes do require a special licence, but we've kept things simple by leaving them out of our hire fleet.
I have points on my licence - can I hire?
Yes and no. If you have accrued a maximum of 6 penalty points over the past 3 years, we can accept you for hire. If however you have more than 6 penalty points, Swift Go cannot cover you.
I have made a recent vehicle insurance claim – can I hire?
You need to declare at the time of booking if you have made, or had made against you, 2 or more vehicle insurance claims within the last 3 years. Swift Go may not be able to provide cover in this instance. Please either call (0333 2472222) or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
How do I book?
It's simple. Just fill in the booking form on the homepage with your dates and the number of people travelling and then follow the steps on screen. Your holiday is booked in a few simple clicks - no need to make phone calls or email us.
How long do I have to pay?
You will initially pay a deposit (20%) upon making your booking. You will need to have settled your balance no later than 6 weeks before you pick up the motorhome. Don't worry, we'll keep you posted with the occasional email reminder to keep your holiday on schedule.
How long can I hire for?
We're pretty flexible. You can hire from just 3 nights, right up to 3 months all-year-round, meaning you're covered for everything from spontaneous long weekends to meticulously planned month-long road trips.
How many people can drive?
You can have up to 3 named drivers. But all drivers must be present at pick-up with the relevant paperwork. So just because you have booked doesn't mean you have to do all (or any) of the driving.
Can I hire from outside the UK?
Yes, but there are some countries we cannot accept bookings from due to restrictions around insurance. We can offer hire if you're booking from inside the EU, or also Group 1 countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Am I insured?
Yes, we include comprehensive insurance cover for up to 3 drivers for road traffic accidents or collisions. We operate an excess deposit of £1,000. This will be held against your credit card (only charged in event of an incident). Excess is the amount you're required to pay when making an insurance claim. We also offer an optional CDW (collision damage waiver).
Can I reduce the excess?
CDW stands for collision damage waiver - it significantly reduces the excess. It is charged at £15 per day. But when you take out the CDW, the amount of excess you will pay if involved in a road traffic accident or collision is reduced from £1,000 to £250 (subject to detailed terms and conditions).
What if I cancel my booking?
Plans can and do change. Unfortunately we do have to charge you in the event of a cancellation. The amount you will be charged depends upon how close you are to the booking date when making your cancellation. Please see below for the details:
- More than 42 days before the Collection Time - the Booking Deposit
- 29 - 42 days - 40% of total hire charge
- 15 - 28 days - 60% of total hire charge
- 3 - 14 days - 80% of total hire charge
- 2 days - No Show - 95% of total hire charge
Collecting and dropping off your motorhome
What paperwork do I need to bring?
To drive away in a Swift Go motorhome you need to bring certain things when you're picking-up. These are...
- Valid UK driving licence
- 2nd proof of address such as a bank statement or utility bill from the previous 2 months
- Driving licence check code

Where are the Swift Go depots?
We have two depots from which you can collect your vehicle – Manchester and Edinburgh. Both are conveniently located near to the motorway and are a short drive from some of the UK’s most beautiful and popular destinations.

Can I leave my car?
Yes, we offer free on-site parking for the duration of your holiday. Our depot is supervised and gated for your peace of mind.
What time can I pick up my motorhome?
Our standard pick-up time is in the afternoon (between 2pm and 4.30pm). However, we understand that our customers want to make the most of their motorhome experience and may have some distance to travel to their first site. With that in mind, we will try to accommodate earlier collections on a request basis.
What time do I return it?
We ask you to return your motorhome by 12.00 midday please (our office opens at 08.30am).

- Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5pm
- Saturday - open for collections and returns only, unless by prior appointment.
Can I arrange out-of-hours collection/drop-off?
Yes, on a request basis. Contact us directly to arrange. Additional charges will apply.
Returning the motorhome - what do I need to do?
Before returning your Swift Go motorhome to our depot, we ask you to...
- Empty the cassette toilet and water tank at a designated area
- Remove rubbish and general waste from the motorhome and empty the bins
- Refill the tank with fuel
I've never driven a motorhome - is there any help?
Yes. We'll introduce you to the vehicle and talk you through its main functions and controls. Everything is detailed in a user guide we have written specifically for people with no experience of motorhoming.
Preparing for your holiday
Where can I go in the motorhome?
If you're heading to mainland Europe or the Republic of Ireland, simply tick the ‘Euro Travel’ box on our booking page. Swift Go will provide you with a 'Vehicle on Hire' certificate and equip your motorhome with a European Travel Kit.
The following countries are covered under our comprehensive insurance:
Andorra, Iceland, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Serbia, Switzerland, the UK and all current member countries of the European Union.
European travel outside of the countries listed is not permitted and will not be covered by any insurance.
Alternatively, why not plan the perfect staycation and take in the national parks and hidden treasures of the UK?
Do I need to bring bedding and towels?
No. Every Swift Go motorhome comes with a bedding and towel set per berth so you don't have to fill your car with bulky towels and duvets. You're on holiday - you want to travel light, right? So for a 4 berth you'll get 4 sets of bedding and towels - even if you're only travelling with 2 or 3 people.
Do I need to bring pots, pans and plates?
No. Every Swift Go motorhome is fully kitted out with kitchen kit: pans and crockery, glassware and cooking utensils. We've even included a breakfast pack to make life easier on your first morning. When you're embracing the great outdoors, you don't want to be lugging the kitchen sink behind you.
Can I get online?
Yes. All Swift Go motorhomes come with a pre-loaded sim with 12GB of 4G-enabled Wi-Fi. You may be unplugging for a few days, but you'll still want to reconnect when you're chilling out. Share your photos on Facebook and Instagram and plan tomorrow's adventure.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you can. We understand that for many people a holiday is not a holiday if their dog has to stay home. Simply tick the box labelled ‘Pets’ on our booking page and we will do the rest. Swift Go has pet-friendly vehicles in every motorhome range. Please check our T&Cs online before booking.

Do you offer airport pick-up?
Yes, if you're flying in, we can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport and driven to our Swift Go depot for an additional charge.
Please call us at the relevant depot to request your transfer (please note that this service is not available from all UK airports).
Will the motorhome have fuel in?
Yes, when you collect your motorhome from the Swift Go depot it will have a full tank of fuel. We ask you to refill the tank of fuel before dropping off the motorhome at the end of your holiday.
